Space Frames
A modular system of structural framing with the added potential of 2 way spanning

spaceframe1

A choice of Hard, Soft or Composite forms of timber enables the ideal combination of strength and appearance properties to be selected for each project.
The versatile node joint can accommodate a wide variety of chord and web configurations to suit the structural form
spaceframe2
Space Frames develop the triangulated structural efficiency of trusses into 3 dimensions enabling relatively light components to span substantial distances.

Structural Forms

Predictable regular geometric forms are more straightforward to process providing the requisite proportion of triangulation is included. More complex shapes may test the imagination but practical limitations will normally relate to 'overcrowding' at nodes and the like.

Trussed Beams
Structures which are primarily spanned in one direction can also benefit from the provision of integral purlins and lateral bracing which are a feature of this form of construction. spaceframe5

Practical Grid
The top chord grid can be selected to suit the required support centres for the cladding - perhaps 750 to 1200 for polycarb, 1370 for fibre cement, 1800 for profiled metal and so on. Separate purlins are not needed. spaceframe6

Two Way Spanning
Square or near square structures enable the system to use all of its elements to share the framing forces. spaceframe7
