Lamella roofs are a 1920's German idea brought up-to-date using LVL and special jointing. Two-way spanning with one member continuous alternating through each joint can achieve remarkable span-to-depth ratios.

8m x 16m span using only 200mm deep ribs working compositely with 27mm deck.
Hounslow East Station
Approx. 44m long x 18m girth barrel vault. Over 400 ribs 75 x 360 deep. Note that the double curved fascia beam also twists.
